The City of Fort St. John is proposing a new Property Standards Bylaw and we want your feedback!
The City is proposing a new Property Standards Bylaw that will replace the existing Unsightly Premises Bylaw (1223, 1992) and Nuisance Bylaw (1645, 2003). The intent of the new bylaw is to identify responsibilities for property owners/occupants with respect to property and boulevard maintenance, derelict vehicles, garage sales, and noxious weeds, amongst other things. This regulation is enacted by Council to enhance the well-being of the community by regulating nuisances, and other objectionable situations. It seeks to promote harmony amongst citizens and neighborhoods, fosters community pride, and enhances liveability.
We are currently taking public feedback into consideration as we prepare a bylaw for Council’s consideration.
